This short online course will help you to recognise young carers and understand some of the issues they face. It includes opinions and contributions from young carers and professionals who support them. The course will also give you information about how to support the young carers you meet and where to go for specialist support.
You will need to register with some basic information about yourself. You can choose a username and password that you will need when you access a course. Please make a note of your password and username as we do not keep a record of your log-in details. It should only take you about an hour to complete a course (but there is no time limit). You can log in as many times as you like and complete a course in sections if you'd prefer. You do not have to complete both courses. When you have finished a course you can print out a certificate.
This online training site has been created by York Carers Centre, with funding and support from City of York Council, Young Carers Revolution and the Innovation Fund. The Innovation Fund is coordinated by the National Young Carers Coalition and managed by Carers Trust.
